1969 L88 Corvette Coupe

This 1969 L88 Corvette was purchased new as a gift for the owner's wife. Apparently, the buyer fell victim to idea that a Corvette
with exotic options would make a desirable Corvette. This was one of the worries that Zora Arkus Duntov was concerned
about with the L88 option package, but this L88 was sold new by the dealership. As you can imagine, the wife could
not drive this L88 Corvette and traded it back in within only a matter of weeks of receiving it.

This L-88 Corvette could not be moved off the dealer's lot and was eventually sold as a new car at a dealer auction during
the 1969 model year. This L-88 Corvette passed through three consecutive owners until it finally ended up at the
drag strip with the fourth owner. This L88 Corvette would click of times in the mid 10's at the strip.

Amazingly, the original engine block withstood all the racing, and still remains in the Corvette today. This L88 Corvette
only has a few clicks over 20,000 miles and has received the Bloomington Gold Certificate,
a Bloomington Gold Survivor award, and an NCRS Top Flight award in 2008.

My second L-88 Corvette book is being created at this time. If you would like more information about it, please take a look at this extra L-88 page. Click Here.
